Rony’s ‘Images of Paris’ presented to French leader

Bangladeshi photographer Farid Ahammad Rony’s widely acclaimed photobook, Images of Paris, has reached another significant milestone on the international stage. The book was presented to former French President François Hollande at a special event held at the City University of Paris.

At an event held on August 28, Farid Ahammad Roni met with former French President François Hollande for a courtesy call and an exchange of views. Discussions during the meeting focused on the content and aesthetics of his photography-based publication centered on Paris, as well as the role of such creative work in fostering international cultural connections.

As a Bangladeshi photographer, this opportunity to showcase his work to prominent French political and cultural figures holds special significance in his creative journey.

Earlier, Farid Ahammed Rony also met with the former Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo; he presented her with his book, Paris-er Chhobi (Images of Paris), and received a positive response. On June 30, he also held a courtesy meeting and exchanged views with the current Deputy Mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Grégoire. Discussions during the meeting focused on the book’s content, the aesthetics of the photographs, and the role such publications play in fostering cultural ties between Bangladesh and France.
