Illegal shops, structures removed from Motijheel footpaths
The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Wednesday removed illegal structures and floating shops occupying footpaths in Motijheel to ensure unhindered movement of pedestrians.
The eviction drive was conducted under the leadership of DSCC Zone-2 Regional Executive Officer Md Abu Aslam.
The drive covered the footpaths along the road from Motijheel Ideal School and College to AGB Colony Kacha Bazar.
During the operation, various illegal shops and temporary structures occupying the footpaths beside the road were removed.
The footpaths were also cleared to facilitate normal movement of pedestrians.
The DSCC said it had been conducting regular eviction drives against illegal business operations and structures occupying footpaths to ensure unhindered movement of city dwellers.
It said such drives would continue to keep footpaths open for pedestrians and maintain discipline on roads and footpaths across the city.
