City Bank unveils American Express Ultramarine credit card
City Bank has unveiled its American Express Ultramarine Credit Card, offering customers in Bangladesh travel, lifestyle, and everyday spending benefits, with applications opening on 1 October 2026.
City Bank unveiled the card at its head office on Thursday, and it will be available in both secured and unsecured variants for local and international spending, according to a media release.
Cardholders can choose between welcome benefits comprising 5pc cashback on eligible spending during the first three months, capped at Tk10,000, or a travel luggage voucher worth Tk5,000.
Travel benefits include complimentary access to City Bank American Express International and Domestic Lounges at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, where primary cardholders can bring up to two companions.
Primary cardholders will also receive 12 complimentary Priority Pass lounge visits each year at selected airports worldwide. These visits can be shared in any combination between the cardholder and accompanying guests, with each lounge entry counting as one visit.
City Bank Chairman Hossain Khaled; Additional Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Md Mahbubur Rahman; Additional Managing Director and Chief Information Officer Kazi Azizur Rahman; Additional Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer and CMELCO Mahia Juned; and Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking Md Arup Haider attended the launch.
American Express Banking Corp Director and Head of Global Network Services for South Asia and French Territories, Kurush Dastoor, and American Express Senior Manager of Network Partnerships for South Asia, Puneet Mathur, also joined the unveiling. Other senior officials of both organisations were present.

City Bank will not charge a cash withdrawal fee for international ATM transactions made with the card. Other benefits include a complimentary meet-and-greet service for primary cardholders with up to two guests per visit at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, savings on international air tickets and domestic hotels, and selected travel insurance and luggage benefits when purchasing international tickets through GoZayaan.
Cardholders can earn three Membership Rewards points for every Tk100 or $1 spent. Points can be redeemed for gift vouchers, annual fee waivers, and purchases through the Purchases with Points facility.
They will also receive buy-one-get-one complimentary buffet dining offers at selected international hotel chains across Bangladesh on weekends, along with other dining, retail, lifestyle, and travel offers through American Express.
All benefits are subject to applicable terms, conditions, and eligibility criteria.
