Khulna gets new SP

Khulna has been assigned a new Superintendent of Police, with Mohammad Tajul Islam stepping into the role following a government reshuffle.

Previously serving as Deputy Police Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police, his appointment was confirmed in a Home Ministry notification issued on April 21.

The reshuffle also sees outgoing SP Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman transferred to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), while Sherpur SP Kamrul Islam has been attached to the Khulna Range DIG office. Meanwhile, Dhaka’s Deputy Police Commissioner AKM Zahirul Islam has been appointed as the new SP of Sherpur, alongside changes in Natore.

The move is expected to bring a shift in leadership dynamics within Khulna district police.
