Fortis back in 2nd place: Kings retain top spot after defeating Arambagh

Bashundhara Kings are now at the top of the Bangladesh Football League (BFL), Fortis FC has moved up to second place.
Bashundhara Kings defeated bottom-of-the-table Arambagh 2-1 at the Kings Arena on Satureday. Rakib, Sunday and Darielton kept Arambagh under pressure from the start of the match by playing attacking football.
Kings got their first goal when Darielton placed a pass from Rakib. Then, Darielton’s cross was headed by Emmanuel Sunde to make it 2-0 in the first half.
However, tension arose in the 55th minute of the match, when Arambagh’s Kijito sent the ball into the net, but the assistant referee disallowed the goal due to handball.
Arambagh’s Mills scored a goal in the 63rd minute to bring the gap to 2-1. Although Arambagh lost, they played good football in the second half.
Finally, Kings left the field with a win and are at the top of the table with 27 points from 12 matches. Fortis is second with 24 points and Abahani is third with 22 points.
In the day’s match,Fortis defeated Police FC 1-0 today at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur.
At the start of the match, captain of the winning SAFF Under-20 team Mithu Chowdhury put Fortis ahead with a perfect header from inside the box.

The results of the remaining 6 matches will determine who will have the last laugh. Bashundhara Kings are in a favorable position with 27 points.
After setting a new record of becoming champions for the fifth time in a row, the Kings have lost the title in the very next season. This time, they stand in front of a great opportunity to reclaim that title.
Fortis FC was keeping an eye on Kings from the start of BFL. They were also walking parallel paths in the middle.
They maintained the 3-point gap they had built after losing to Kings in the second leg by defeating Police FC.
Abahani had moved up to second in the points table after defeating Mohammedan on Friday. Abahani has 22 points. Now Abahani 2 points behind Fortis and 5 points behind Kings.
