Bangladesh face Uzbekistan today

Bangladesh Hockey team will face Uzbekistan Hockey team in their last Pool-B match of the Asian Games Hockey Qualifier at Bangkok in Thailand today. The match will start at 10:00am.

Bangladesh Hockey team gained three points from two matches, while Uzbekistan Hockey team also collected three points from two matches.

Bangladesh Hockey team made an auspicious start in the Asian Games Hockey Qualifier as they defeated Chinese Taipei Hockey team by 4-3 goals in their first Pool-B match on April 2.

But Bangladesh Hockey team tasted a bitter taste as they lost to their weaker opponent Sri Lanka Hockey team by 3-2 goals in their last Pool-B match on April 3.

On the other hand, Uzbekistan Hockey team suffered a 1-3 goals defeat to Sri Lanka Hockey team in their first Pool-B match on April 2.

Uzbekistan fought back as they blanked Chinese Taipei 8-0 in their second Pool-B match on April 3.

Bangladesh have two ace hockey players. They are: Ashraful Islam and Amirul Islam. Ashraful Islam scored three goals, while Amirul Islam netted two goals.

A total of nine teams dividing into two groups are taking part in the Asian Games Hockey Qualifier.

Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan are in Pool-B, while Oman, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Thailand and Kazakhstan are in Pool-A.

A number of six teams will qualify for the upcoming Asian Games Hockey Competition.
