Stop criticising Katrina Kaif’s body: Ali Zafar
Women’s physical changes after giving birth are a completely natural process. However, Bollywood queen Katrina Kaif had to face extreme body-shaming due to that natural change.
As soon as she appeared in public for the first time after giving birth at the Ambanis’ Ganpati festival, a group of netizens started trolling Katrina for her weight gain and changes in appearance.
However, her co-star from the movie ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’, Pakistani star singer and actor Ali Zafar, has spoken out against this injustice and stood by Katrina.
In a video message on social media, Ali Zafar expressed his anger and said, “We should all look at ourselves.
It is completely unfair to judge a woman based on the privileges that society has given us as men and the right to create false beauty standards.
No one has the right to decide how Katrina will live her life or what her body will look like after giving birth.”
Criticising the artificial beauty standards created for both men and women, Ali Zafar further said, “Once upon a time, during the Renaissance, the way women’s bodies were portrayed was different. Then came the ghost of the zero figure.
Even in the case of men, unrealistic expectations of six-pack abs are added, which is not healthy at all.
Every person has their own struggles. So instead of criticising someone’s looks, we should be compassionate.”
She gives a clear message to the male society – “All women have a past, present and future.
Please let her live her life as she is, and you live your own lives.” Vicky Kaushal and Katrina welcomed their son Vihaan in November last year.
Although they have been out of the limelight for quite some time after the birth of their child, the couple was recently spotted at the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
Soon after, the internet started making awkward comments comparing Katrina’s before and after pregnancy pictures.
But not only Ali Zafar, actress Shivalika Oberoi also stood next to Katrina and said in harsh words, “What happened? Brother, after giving birth to a child, your body will change like this – that’s motherhood.”
The chemistry between Katrina and Ali Zafar in their 2011 superhit film ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ is still fresh in the minds of fans.
