Khaleda now under close observation in hospital cabin
Staff Reporter :
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is currently under tight medical watch in her cabin at Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital, where she was rushed on Sunday after a marked decline in her health.
Professor FM Siddiqui, a member of her medical board, confirmed that she has developed a lung infection, prompting doctors to keep her under constant, high-alert monitoring.
“She is being treated under strict and uninterrupted supervision,” Professor Siddiqui said, adding that her already fragile condition demands maximum caution and specialised, round-the-clock care.
Hospital sources note that every necessary medical procedure is being applied as the team closely observes how she responds to treatment.
Khaleda Zia’s health has been a persistent source of concern, and this latest turn has sharpened the anxiety and attention of party leaders and supporters alike.
The update follows repeated warnings from her medical team that her condition remains extremely delicate, requiring immediate intervention whenever needed. Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka, Yao Wen on Wednesday gave flowers to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia seeking her early recovery.
BNP Chairperson’s personal assistant ABM Abdus Sattar take the flowers from the envoy.
