My male co-stars feel inferior due to my success: Keerthy

In a recent interview on the occasion of the release of Netflix’s new gangster drama ‘Akka’, two popular actresses Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte spoke about the patriarchal mentality within the Bollywood and South Indian industries.

National Film Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh says she has faced bitter experiences while working with some male co-stars in her career who could not easily accept a woman’s success or ambition.

In Keerthy’s words, “I couldn’t understand where the problem was. At one time, I thought maybe it was my fault, maybe
I was suffering from inferiority complex.

But later I realised that they were trying to impose their own lack of confidence and inferiority complex on me.”
