All Riyadh fire victims’ bodies returned
The bodies of seven Bangladeshi workers killed in a fire at a sofa manufacturing factory in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday morning.
The bodies reached the airport at around 8:30am, completing the repatriation of all 16 Bangladeshi workers who died in the fire on August 9.
The bodies of the first nine victims were brought back to Bangladesh on August 27. The remaining seven could not initially be identified as they had been severely burned in the fire. Their identities were later confirmed through DNA tests.
According to embassy sources, flights from Riyadh had been temporarily suspended since October 10. As a result, the bodies were transported by road from Riyadh to Jeddah before being flown to Dhaka on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from King Abdulaziz International Airport.
The seven workers were identified as Md Shahin of Sadar
