Swagata to give direction for first time

Actress and musician Zinat Sanu Swagata is coming to direction for the first time. She will produce a short
film under the project of
BTV titled ‘Chhoto Chhobi, Boro Swapno’. Title of Swagata’s first movie is ‘Otoeb’. While talking about the short film, director Swagata told this correspondent, “It’s a love story. Failed love stories like Romeo-Juliet, Shiri-Farhad. The story of this short film will show that true love is not fulfilled due to social discrimination. This is
a familiar story. But want
to see it as I do.”
Swagata studied in the
Film and Media Studies Department of Stamford University. She was supposed to make a short film as part of Master’s. The story of short film ‘Otoeb’ was written by her at that time. Swagata yet not completed her master’s. As a result, it has not
been made yet.
Swagata said that she submitted the screenplay after seeing the circulation of the BTV project ‘Chhoto Chhobi, Boro Swapno’ a month ago.
After being initially
selected, she was called for an interview. After
completing all the
procedures, it was
finally announced by BTV
on November 23 that her screenplay has been selected.
Who will act in this short film has not been finalised yet. Swagata wants to
work with new artistes.
While talking in this regard, the actress told this correspondent, “I have a few names in my mind. But
I haven’t talked to anyone yet. I have to attend a 7-day workshop before shooting.
I will decide about the actors by doing that.”
Swagata does not want to stop by writing her name in the director’s book. She plans to be behind the ca
regularly, said the actress.
