I have only 4 and a half to 5yrs to live: Tania Brishty

Brain tumour diagnosis, surgery, radiotherapy and extreme crisis of life support – in last 10 months, well-known small screen actress Tania Brishty has faced a terrible and painful reality.

Doctors in Chennai, India, had at one stage told her that her life expectancy might be only four and a half to five years.

However, she has gradually moved forward on the path of recovery, leaving that prediction of death and the difficult treatment process behind her.

The actress recently returned to the shooting set after a long break of almost ten months.

Expressing her feelings about being able to stand in front of the camera and start working anew, she said that this is a kind of second birth for her.

In a recent interview, Tania Brishty spoke in detail about her physical illness, long treatment process and the feeling of returning to shooting.

She said that by the grace of Allah, her current physical condition is much more stable than before.

After about 10 months, she has returned to her daily routines like eating and drinking normally, light exercise and laughing.

After the surgery, she could not sleep on her left side due to complications on the right side of her head; she was also suffering from severe physical weakness, dizziness and regular vomiting.

However, after going through the difficult stages of radiotherapy, life has now started to return to normal.

After a long break, she recently stood in front of the camera again with the drama ‘Angshidar’ directed by Iksan Roni.

In this drama, which is based on the real-life context of family property and financial transactions, she is portraying the character ‘Sumi’, where her character gets involved in a family conflict with her uncle after the death of her father.

According to the actress, she felt the shooting environment very strongly after being out of work for ten months.

Since her colleagues are like family to her, the shooting floor is a great refuge for mental peace.

On the first day of work, everyone from the director, cameraman and production team were very sensitive and careful about her physical condition.

However, since she is not completely free from risk yet, Tania Brishty had to request to return to shooting, somewhat ignoring the strict advice of the doctor.

The doctors initially did not want to give permission, thinking that physical complications might arise during the shooting during the ongoing process of chemotherapy.

But after much pleading and begging, she got permission to work in a drama while sitting at home, as he was mentally broken. She still has two months of chemotherapy left.

After the completion of this course, the doctors will re-evaluate the latest situation of the tumour through MRI and CT scan.
