BGB destroys Tk 3cr narcotics

RAMGARH, KHAGRACHHARI: Border Guard Bangladesh officials destroy narcotics worth around Tk 3 crore at the 43 Battalion headquarters in the district on Wednesday.

A large quantity of various types of narcotics was destroyed by a road roller at a ceremony organised by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Ramgarh, Khagrachhari, on Wednesday.

Adopting a “zero-tolerance” policy towards drugs, the 43 Battalion of the BGB in Ramgarh officially destroyed narcotics worth approximately Tk 3 crore.

The narcotics had been seized during operations conducted between February 2022 and August 2026 in various border areas by the Yaminipara Battalion (23 BGB), Khedachhara Battalion (40 BGB) and Ramgarh Battalion (43 BGB), all operating under the BGB’s Guimara Sector.

The destruction took place on Wednesday at the basketball court of the BGB Battalion Headquarters in Taichalapara, Ramgarh Municipality.

The destroyed items primarily consisted of various brands of Indian liquor, Phensedyl, cannabis, yaba tablets and other intoxicating substances.

Foreign cigarettes and locally produced illicit liquor were also among the seized goods.
