Ruyel Miah claims five wickets in Khulna
Ruel Miah bowled the fifth ball of the over, outside the off-stump. Khulna batter Abdul Halim pulled it inside, Ruyel Miah celebrated when it hit the inside of the bat and broke the wicket.
He bowled 27.5 overs against the hosts on the second day of the first round at the Khulna Divisional Stadium and took 5 wickets for 80 runs.
This is the first five-wicket haul, which was taken in the 28th season of the National Cricket League (NCL).
Khulna Division were all out in the first session of the second day of the match on Sunday.
The hosts, who started the day with 328 runs for 5 wickets, lost the remaining 5 wickets for 98 runs. Ruyel Miah, who took 3 wickets in the previous day, took 2 more wickets yesterday.
This is Ruyel’s eighth five-wicket haul in his 38th first-class match in his career. He was the one who caught the big fish for Khulna in the entire match.
He got Barishal Division off to a good start on Saturday by returning Enamul Haque Bijoy, who has been consistently scoring runs in domestic cricket.
Then he sent Khulna Captain Mohammad Mithun, who was on his way to a century, back to the dressing room. Mithun, who had scored 89 runs, was caught by Shahidul Islam at mid-wicket.
