PM Tarique shares photo with Trump from New York dinner

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman attended a dinner hosted by US President Donald Trump in honour of visiting world leaders and their spouses during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on 22 September 2026 .

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday shared a photo of himself and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman with US President Donald Trump from a dinner hosted by the US president for world leaders attending the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The prime minister shared the photo on his Facebook page after the White House released it, showing him and Dr Zubaida Rahman with President Trump.

Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted the dinner on the night of September 22 at the luxury Lotte New York Palace hotel in New York for heads of state and government of UN member states and their spouses.

The dinner was held in honour of world leaders who had gathered in New York to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Dr Zubaida Rahman attended the dinner along with other world leaders and their spouses.

Earlier, the prime minister and his wife attended a breakfast hosted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres for heads of state and government and their spouses.

The White House also shared another photo featuring Dr Zubaida Rahman and US First Lady Melania Trump during a special meeting of first ladies in New York.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly and brought together spouses of heads of state and government from different countries.

During the meeting, Melania Trump unveiled her global children’s welfare initiative, “Fostering the Future Together”, and called on first ladies from other countries to join the initiative.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman travelled to New York on September 21 with a 35-member delegation to attend the UN General Assembly. He delivered his maiden address as prime minister at the General Debate on September 24.

The prime minister returned home on the morning of September 27 after completing his five-day visit to the United States.
