68 AC Lands withdrawn

The government has withdrawn 68 assistant commissioners (land), known as AC Lands, from their posts and attached them as senior assistant commissioners to the offices of divisional commissioners.

These include the divisional commissioner’s offices of Barishal, Sylhet, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, Dhaka and Rangpur. The order was issued through separate notifications from the Field Administration-1 branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday.

According to the notification, the officers concerned had been serving as assistant commissioner (land) at their respective postings.

Following their withdrawal, they have been attached to the relevant divisional commissioner’s office pending their next posting as senior assistant commissioners.

The notification lists each officer’s name, identification number, current posting, and the division to which they have been attached.

It further states that these BCS (administration) cadre officers are being withdrawn from their assistant commissioner (land) posts and attached to the divisional commissioner’s office concerned, pending further posting, and that the order, issued in the public interest, takes immediate effect.

Officers serving as assistant commissioner (land) at field level typically hold important responsibilities relating to land management, land revenue, mutation (namjari), resolution of land disputes, and various other administrative functions of the government. Their withdrawal and attachment to the divisional commissioner’s office forms part of the administrative process ahead of their next posting.

Copies of the notification have been sent for necessary action to the Cabinet Secretary, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Land, the relevant branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and district magistrates, along with other concerned offices.

The Bangladesh Forms and Publications Office has also been asked to publish the notification in the next issue of the gazette.
