Chinese envoy meets PM’s Public Admin Adviser

The Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, paid a courtesy call on Md. Ismail Zabiullah-a member of the BNP National Standing Committee and the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Public Administration (with the rank of Minister)-at the Adviser’s office in the Bangladesh Secretariat today, Sunday.

Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing mutual communication and advancing bilateral relations between the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Adviser welcomed the outgoing Chinese Ambassador, Yao Wen, with flowers and exchanged pleasantries. They also exchanged views on various aspects of the bilateral relationship.

The Adviser on Public Administration stated that Bangladesh attaches great importance to its long-standing, friendly, and trust-based relationship with China.

China is one of Bangladesh’s major trade and investment partners. Beyond trade and investment, cooperation between the two nations has expanded into various sectors, including education, technology, human resource development, administration, and knowledge exchange. He noted that China’s cooperation is vital for Bangladesh’s sustainable development. Mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries can be further deepened through joint research, the exchange of technology and expertise, and enhanced cultural interaction.

During the meeting, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen stated that relations between the two countries have strengthened following recent visits to China by various delegations from Bangladesh.

He particularly noted that the Bangladesh-China relationship has reached new heights after Prime Minister Tareq Rahman’s visit to China.

Ambassador Yao Wen suggested that, under the initiative of the ‘China-Bangladesh Friendship Society,’ a structured, specific, and well-planned training program could be organized in Bangladesh to further bolster the friendship between the two nations.

This program would offer training opportunities for leaders from various political parties in Bangladesh, thereby enhancing communication and mutual understanding between the political parties of both countries.

The Ambassador highlighted the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Communist Party of China and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, emphasizing the need to further enhance cooperation between the two parties.

Relevant officials from the Chinese Embassy were present at the meeting.
