Mutasim Billah Farooqi new BTB CEO

The government has appointed National Board of Revenue (NBR) Member Barrister Mutasim Billah Farooqi as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB).

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification making the appointment on deputation, with the decision taking effect immediately.

Farooqi, a Grade-2 official, had been serving as NBR Member (Tax Legal and Enforcement, current charge) before being attached to the Ministry of Public Administration for further posting.

According to the notification, he has now been appointed CEO of the Bangladesh Tourism Board under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
The government made the appointment in the public interest, the notification said.
Farooqi’s appointment brings a senior NBR official into the leadership of the country’s tourism promotion body, with his posting formally taking effect immediately.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued the notification confirming the new assignment.
