Div Commissioner opens dev projects in Sonargaon

Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Moniruzzaman Mia on Thursday inaugurated several development initiatives and inspected ongoing projects in Sonargaon Upazila, emphasising transparency, accountability and timely implementation of development works.

During his visit, the divisional commissioner toured various development projects in Sadipur Union, the Sonargaon Municipality Digital Center, the Information Center, and several completed and ongoing projects in different unions. He was briefed by the concerned officials on the progress of the schemes.
The inspection programme was chaired by Sonargaon Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Asif Al Jinat.

Among others present were Deputy Director of the Local Government Division Mosammat Selina Banu, Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Raihan Kabir, former Senior Joint Convener of Narayanganj District Jubo Dal Khairul Islam Sajib, Sonargaon Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Toufiqur Rahman, Kanchpur Revenue Circle Officer Fairuz Tasnim, Sonargaon Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Anwar Hossain, leaders of BNP affiliated organisations, acting chairmen and members of union parishads, and local dignitaries.

Speaking after the inspection, Moniruzzaman Mia said all stakeholders must work together to ensure the country’s sustainable development. He warned that no irregularities or corruption would be tolerated in development activities and stressed that projects must be implemented with transparency and accountability to safeguard public interests.

The divisional commissioner also directed the concerned officials to complete all development projects within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
