Dhaka Bank celebrates 31st anniversary

Dhaka Bank PLC recently celebrated its 31st anniversary through a programme featuring a doa mahfil, speeches and a cake-cutting ceremony at the bank’s Head Office in Dhaka.

The programme was attended by Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dhaka Bank PLC; members of the Board of Directors; Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer; senior management officials, branch managers and employees of the bank, according to press release.

Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Founder of Dhaka Bank PLC, who is currently receiving medical treatment in Malaysia, joined the event virtually and addressed the gathering.

The programme began with recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a welcome address by Osman Ershad Faiz.

In his remarks, Faiz reflected on Dhaka Bank’s journey over the past three decades and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to excellence through innovation, technology, customer-centric services and sustainable growth under its brand promise, “Transforming Together”.

Speaking at the programme, Abdul Hai Sarker thanked the bank’s customers, shareholders, regulators, employees and other stakeholders for their trust and support throughout its 31-year journey.

He also reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to strengthening corporate governance, sustainable banking practices, digital transformation and long-term value creation.

In his virtual address, Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed reflected on the bank’s journey from its inception to becoming one of Bangladesh’s leading private commercial banks. He congratulated the Board, management and employees for their dedication and encouraged them to continue serving customers with integrity, professionalism and excellence.

Several members of the Board of Directors also addressed the gathering and appreciated the collective efforts of the bank’s employees in achieving sustained growth and strengthening customer confidence over the years.

The directors present included ATM Hayatuzzaman Khan, Director; Reshadur Rahman, Director; Altaf Hossain Sarker, Director; Afroza Abbas, Director; Amir Ullah, Director; Abdullah Al Ahsan, Director; Md Aman Ullah Sarker, Director; Mirza Yaser Abbas, Director; and Professor Bilkis Ara Begum, Independent Director.

A special doa mahfil was held seeking blessings for the continued prosperity and success of Dhaka Bank PLC, the wellbeing of its customers, shareholders and employees, and the speedy recovery and good health of Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed.

The celebration concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting led by the Chairman, members of the Board of Directors, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, and senior management officials of the bank.

Marking its 31st anniversary, Dhaka Bank PLC reaffirmed its commitment to building a stronger, smarter and more inclusive financial institution by embracing innovation, technology and customer-centric banking solutions.
