



Detectives have arrested an alleged drug trader and recovered 20,000 yaba tablets during an anti-narcotics operation in the Gendaria area of the capital, continuing efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking in Dhaka.
The arrested individual has been identified as Taiyab Taher Uddin, 32.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Detective Branch (DB) Wari Division carried out a raid on Murgitola Road in Gendaria on Monday. During the operation, officers detained Taher and seized 20,000 pieces of yaba tablets from his possession.
The information was confirmed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Niaz Mehedi.
A case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act, police said.
