



Agricultural scientist Dr. Md. Manjurul Kadir has been appointed as the new Director General (Routine Duties) of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI). The appointment was made through an official order issued by the Ministry of Agriculture. Prior to this apex assignment, he served with distinction as the Director of the Oilseed Research Centre at BARI.
Dr. Kadir began his illustrious career at BARI in 1992 as a Scientific Officer. Over the decades, his dedication and expertise led to successive promotions as Senior Scientific Officer, Principal Scientific Officer, Chief Scientific Officer, and subsequently, Director (Oilseed Research Centre).
An accomplished academic and researcher, Dr. Kadir earned his Ph.D. from the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in 2009, specializing as an Oilseed Breeder (Rapeseed & Groundnut). He has contributed significantly to global agricultural discourse, regularly publishing scientific articles in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals.
His professional journey includes representing Bangladesh at various international training, seminars, symposiums, and workshops across the United States of America, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Thailand, Kenya, and Vietnam.
Born in 1968 to a respected Muslim family in the Jamalpur district, Dr. Kadir is the proud father of two children in his personal life.
