BGB holds free medical camp at Joypurhat border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-20) provided free medical treatment and medicines to underprivileged and distressed people at the Panchbibi border area of Joypurhat.

A daylong free medical camp was organised on Monday at the Koya Government Primary School playground under the initiative of Joypurhat 20 BGB Battalion. Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan, sector commander of the Dinajpur Sector, inaugurated the medical camp. More than 500 women, men and children from the area under the jurisdiction of Koya Border Outpost (BOP) received free treatment from experienced doctors and necessary medicines.

Speaking as the chief guest, Colonel Faisal Hasan Khan said, “Alongside protecting the border, BGB has always been working for the welfare of border communities.

BGB is committed to standing beside disadvantaged people during any crisis or humanitarian disaster. Such initiatives will further strengthen relations between BGB and local residents.”

The programme was chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Latiful Bari, commander of Joypurhat 20 BGB Battalion.

Acting Senior Medical Officer of the Dinajpur Sector Captain Hosne Ara Akter, Assistant Director Mohammad Humayun Karim, local dignitaries and other BGB officials were also present.
