Ronaldo’s positive attitude against DR Kongo

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal said, “We are going to the World Cup with a lot of hope. Our preparations have been very good. Although everyone is quite tired, because we have worked hard in the last few days.

I am very positive. I believe that Portugal will do well in this World Cup, will give everyone a good performance.

This generation is very talented. They have given many happy moments to the Portuguese people. The most important thing is to have a good start in the FIFA World Cup 2026, to win the first match, then think about the second and third matches. We have to take the top place of Group-K and go to the knockout stage and then we have to move forward match-by-match.”

Portugal will start the tournament against DR Congo in Houston tomorrow at Houston in the United States of America. The match will kick-off at 11:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). State-owned television channel BTV, private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel Somoy TV will telecast the match live. Then their opponents in Group-K are Uzbekistan and Colombia.

Ronaldo, 41, is set to play in a record sixth World Cup, although critics have suggested his absence could hamper Roberto Martinez’s side’s ability to improve on the pitch. Portugal have recently played two FIFA International friendlies against Chile and Nigeria. Portugal lost in the both matches 1-2, although Ronaldo failed to score in either match.

Portugal finished third in the 1996 World Cup and reached the quarter-finals four years ago in Qatar.
