‘Widow’s Bay’ wins 14 awards
The highest recognition in the world of television, the ‘Emmy Awards’, have been given.
The 78th Emmy Awards were held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, USA, on Tuesday morning Bangladesh time (Monday night American time).
Apple TV’s ‘Widow’s Bay’ set a record by winning the most awards, with 14. The previous record of winning the most awards was set by the 2025 comedy series ‘The Studio’.
This time, ‘Widow’s Bay’ surpassed it.
In addition to Best Comedy Series, it won the main awards including acting, direction, and screenplay.
A rare event has also happened in acting. Matthew Rhys won best actor in a comedy and limited series.
No one else has won best actor in two categories at the same time in the same season. He received two awards for ‘Widow’s Bay’ and ‘The Beast in Me’.
Actress Jean Smart has set a record for winning five consecutive Emmys. She won again for the limited series ‘Hacks’. She has won the Best Actress award for the last four seasons for this series.
No one else has the record of winning the Best Actress at the Emmys five consecutive times. Not only that, Jean Smart has won a total of eight Emmys.
As a result, she has created a record of winning the most Emmys with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Cloris Leachman. In addition, HBO’s medical drama ‘The Pitt’ and limited series ‘DTF St. Louis’ won seven awards each.
