Mixed reactions to Eid movies

Eight new movies have been released in the country’s theatres on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
These are – ‘Rockstar’, ‘Malik’, ‘Roid’, ‘Bonolota Sen’, ‘Masud Rana’, ‘Tochhonchh’, ‘Officer’ and ‘Pinik’. The movies are getting mixed reactions from the audience.
While many are praising the movies after leaving the cinema halls, some are also criticising them.
This Eid, Shakib Khan’s ‘Rockstar’ has been released in a maximum of 103 theatres, including single screens and cineplexes.
Like every time, Shakib’s movie is at the centre of discussion. However, along with praise, there is criticism.
Although Shakib’s performance in the movie is praised, the audience has regrets about the story.
Many are claiming that there are inconsistencies in the screenplay and story. Some are also claiming that ‘Rockstar’ is a tele-fiction.
The movie is directed by Azman Rusho, based on the story of a rockstar named Agun.
Shakib is accompanied by Sabila Nur, Tangia Zaman Methila, Sunidhi Nayek, and others.
Although it is claimed to be a musical film, none of the songs could resonate with the audience. This has caused regret among the audience.
Apart from this, many are also not taking the hero’s excessive drug use in the movie well.
However, the director believes that ‘Rockstar’ will gradually win people’s hearts.
According to him, the success of such movies is very necessary in the industry.
Only then will producers have the courage to experiment more in the future.
Meanwhile, Arifin Shuvoo and Bidya Sinha Mim starrer film ‘Malik’ has received the second highest hall. There are mixed reactions about this movie too.
The audience is enjoying seeing Shuvoo in action on screen after a long time.
However, many are of the opinion that while focusing on action, director Saif Chandan could not keep the story straight.
Before its release, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon’s film ‘Roid’ was in the news. It stars Mostafizur Noor Imran and Nazifa Tushi.
Cineplex has chosen the producer for the release. Along with Imran and Tushi’s performances, the visuals of the movie are being highly praised.
However, the story of the movie is not understandable to many ordinary viewers, some say that the entire movie went over their heads.
Similar comments are being received about Masud Hasan Ujjal’s movie ‘Bonolota Sen’. This too is being shown only in Cineplex.
The life of Jibanananda Das, his literary works and personal struggles are the main theme of this movie.
It stars Khairul Basar, Masuma Rahman Nabila, Sohel Mondal, Naziba Basher, Priyontee Urbee, Rupanty Akid, Maimuna Momo, Gazi Rakayet, among others.
Meanwhile, movie ‘Masud Rana’ is based on the timeless spy-thriller novel by Kazi Anower Hossain.
Directed by Saikat Nasir, Russell Rana plays the role of ‘Masud Rana’ in this movie.
Criticism of this movie is going hand in hand with praise. ‘Masud Rana’ is being trolled for the inconsistency of the story and the use of weak AI.
However, the audience’s reactions to the remaining three Eid movies are also not satisfactory. Badiul Alam Khokon’s ‘Officer’ and ‘Tochhnochh’ are receiving a lot of criticism.
Apart from this, Zahid Jewel’s ‘Pinik’, which was released in cineplexes, is also not able to attract the audience.
Those who have seen the movies are also expressing their dissatisfaction.
It is difficult to say right now which movie will ultimately be commercially successful amidst such mixed reactions from the audience.
