100 to receive free cataract surgery in Manikchhari

A free medical campaign and eye care camp was held in the remote hilly areas of Manikchhari Upazila on Thursday, aiming to provide healthcare support to underprivileged communities.

A total of 100 patients were selected for free cataract surgery with the support of the Lions Eye Hospital and the management of Sindukchhari Zone. The camp, organised under the initiative of the Bangladesh Army, at the Yoghchola Government Primary School ground.

It provided a wide range of medical services to around 1,500 hill and Bengali patients from various remote areas. The initiative, led by the 20th Field Regiment Artillery Sindukchhari Zone under the Guimara Region, aimed to offer essential medical assistance to local residents.

The camp featured a team of expert doctors, including ophthalmologists from Chittagong Lions Hospital and medical officers from the Sindukchhari Zone Headquarters.

In addition to cataract treatment, patients received free glasses, medicines, and other medical supplies.
