Rubel bids farewell to international cricket

Rubel Hossain last played for Bangladesh in April 2021.

After that, he did not get a chance in the Bangladesh National Cricket team again. This pacer, who was out of the team for a long time, bade Good-bye to international cricket.

Rubel announced his retirement on social media on Wednesday. He wrote on Facebook, “I am pacer Rubel Hossain. I have played 27 Tests, 104 ODIs and 28 T20Is for Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Cricket team is my passion. But at some point, I had to retire from international cricket. With that in mind, I said Good-bye to international cricket.”

Despite retiring from international cricket, Rubel will continue to play domestic cricket. In this regard, he said, “But I have the desire to continue playing domestic cricket.”

Rubel received a lot of love from his family, media personnel and fans throughout his career. So, the pacer expressed his gratitude to them during his farewell, “Thanks to my family, friends, media personnel and fans. I believe that they will keep me by their side for the rest of the time. Much love to everyone.”

Rubel played 27 Tests for Bangladesh. He took 36 wickets in 44 innings. His career best bowling figure were 5 wickets for 166 runs in an innings, and 5 wickets for 210 runs in a match. He also played in Test matches. His bowling average is around 77 and his strike rate is 117.

Rubel’s performance in colorful jersey was better than that of Test matches. He captured129 wickets in 104 ODIs. His bowling average is around 34, economy is 5.67 and strike rate is 36.2. His career best bowling in this format is 6 wickets for 26 runs.

He added 28 wickets to his name in 28 T20I matches. He spent 9.45 runs per over. His best bowling figure was 3 wickets for 31 runs.
