440 farmers get free seeds in Natore
A total of 440 farmers in Singra upazila of Natore have received free seeds and fertilisers under the government’s agricultural incentive programme for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
The distribution programme was inaugurated on Tuesday (April 7) at 12:00pm at the upazila agriculture office hallroom, organised by the Department of Agricultural Extension. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Rifat formally opened the event.
Under the programme, 100 farmers were given 5 kg of mung bean seeds along with 15 kg of fertiliser each.
Another 100 farmers received 1 kg of sesame seeds and 15 kg of fertiliser each, while 240 farmers were provided with 1 kg of jute seeds and 10 kg of fertiliser each.
Among others present at the programme were Upazila Agriculture Officer Khandakar Farid, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Shahadat Hossain, Upazila Livestock Officer Tashriful Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Singra Police Station Md. Rafiqul Islam, and local leaders including Prof. Sharful Islam Bulbul and Singra Press Club President Molla Md. Emran Ali Rana.
