Palestinian actor’s Oscar trip stalled
Palestinian actor Moatz Malhis will not be attending the 98th Academy Awards.
His film ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ has been nominated for the Best International Feature Film category.
However, he will not be able to attend due to the travel ban imposed by the US Trump administration.
The actor himself confirmed the matter. In a post on his verified Instagram, Motaz wrote, “I was not allowed to enter the United States because I am a Palestinian citizen. It is really painful not to be able to attend a big event like the Oscars.”
The film is about Hind Rajab, a five-year-old Palestinian child killed in an Israeli attack on Gaza in 2024. It stars Motaz Malhis
as a call centre operator who tries to help rescue Hind.
