International Customs Day: 15 customs officials receive WCO certificate

Bangladesh on Monday observed International Customs Day 2026 across the country under the theme “Bangladesh Customs protecting society through vigilance and commitment”.
On the occasion, 15 customs and VAT officials from Bangladesh received the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Certificate of Merit in recognition of their professional excellence and contributions.
The award recipients are Commissioner Abu Nur Rashed Ahmed, Additional Commissioner Mohammad Bappi Shahariar Siddique, Joint Commissioners Md Al Amin, Billal Hossain and Kamrul Islam, Deputy Commissioners Fatema Khairun Noor, Selim Reza, Habibur Rahman, Neyamul Hasan, Priyanka Das Shipu and Sharif Mohammad Faisal, Revenue Officers Enamul Haque, Md Masud Karim and Md Moniruzzaman Mia, and Assistant Revenue Officers Ayesh Ahmed and Muhammad Rashedul Islam.
Marking the day, Customs House Chattogram organised a seminar at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View. Md Moazzem Hossain, member (Customs and VAT Administration) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), attended the programme as the chief guest.
Among others, the seminar was attended by Md Fazlul Haque, commissioner of Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Cox’s Bazar, Md Mahfuzul Haque Bhuiyan, commissioner of Customs Bond Commissionerate, Chattogram, Sheikh Abu Faisal Md Murad, commissioner of Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Chattogram, Abida Sultana, president of the Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CWCCI), and Md Abul Kalam Azad, commissioner of Taxes Zone-1, Chattogram.
The event was chaired by Abul Basar Md Shafiqul Rahman, commissioner of Customs, Excise and VAT (Appeal) Commissionerate, Chattogram, and convener of the International Customs Day 2026 Regional Celebration Committee, Chattogram.
