Students Block Highway Over BSc Dispute

Students of Tangail Polytechnic Institute on Wednesday blocked the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway, demanding implementation of six-point demands raised by the Technical Students’ Movement and protesting what they termed “irrational” demands by BSc engineering graduates.

The blockade began around 12:30 PM at the Rabna Bypass area, causing complete suspension of vehicular movement on both sides of the highway.

As a result, a tailback stretching over 25 kilometers was reported in both directions, severely disrupting traffic. During the hour-long protest, students chanted slogans and called for immediate resolution of their demands.

Additional police forces were deployed on the highway to maintain law and order during the demonstrat.
