Wife slaughtered sleeping husband at Galua

A wife has slaughtered her sleeping husband Robiul Awal Talikdar, 40, at Galua of Razapur upazila under Jhalokathi district on early Monday .
Rajapur Police Station OC Pulak Chandra Roy said, killer wife Safia was arrested and sent to Jhalokathi district jail on Monday afternoon. The body was recovered and sent to Jhalokathi Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem in the morning.
The incident took place around 1.30 am on Sunday in Sonalimor area of Putiyakhali village of Galua union of Rajapur upazila.
The victim Rabiul Awal Talukdar is the son of deceased Abdur Rahman Talukdar of that area.
Rabiul’s wife Safia Akhtar is the daughter of late Nazrul Islam of Nashasan village of Mazhir Hat union of Nadia police station under Shariatpur district.
Wife Safia confessed responsibility to the police by calling 999 immediately after killing her husband Rabiul by slaughtering.
Relatives and locals of the deceased said that in 2005, Rabiul and Safia got married in Dhaka falling to love. They have two sons. The elder son Rafin is studying in class 9 and the younger son Saqib is studying in class 6.
