Kazi Jesin appointed BTV director general
Television presenter and former journalist Kazi Jesin has been appointed director general (Grade-1) of Bangladesh Television (BTV) on a one-year contractual basis, taking charge of the country’s state-run broadcaster.
The appointment was announced in a notification issued on Thursday by the Contract and Foreign Appointment Wing of the Ministry of Public Administration.
According to the notification, Jesin’s appointment will take effect from the date of joining.
As a condition of the contract, she must relinquish any professional, business or employment ties with government, semi-government, autonomous or private organisations before assuming office.
Jesin is widely known for presenting news and current affairs programmes on several television channels. Before her broadcasting career, she worked as a journalist.
