Price of 12kg LPG canister increases by Tk 70 in August

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices for August, reversing last month’s steep cut.

The price of the most widely used 12kg LPG cylinder has risen by Tk 70, from Tk 1,528 to Tk 1,598. The new price will be effective on Sunday, according to the BERC.

A media statement said the price of private LPG per kg at the retail level for August has been fixed at Tk 133.15, including VAT.

In July, the price was Tk 127.30. Accordingly, the price per kg has increased by Tk 5.85.

In August, the price of a 5.5kg cylinder has been fixed at Tk 732, 12.5kg at Tk 1,664, 15kg at Tk 1,997 and 16kg at Tk 2,130.
