1,152 spots in capital designated for Qurbani

A total of 1,152 places have been designated in the capital city for slaughtering sacrificial animals in the forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
Of the total spots, Dhaka North City Council (DNCC) has selected 648 and Dhaka North City Council (DSCC) 504.
Mayors of DNCC and DSCC in separate statements already urged the city dwellers to slaughter their sacrificial animals in the designated places so the councils could manage the waste easily and timely.
At the designated places, people will be provided with some necessary supports for slaughtering their sacrificial animals safely and maintaining hygiene. These would include skilled butchers, water supplies and rubbish bags.
Both the councils will also deploy 6205 additional cleaning staff, along with their regular ones. Among the additional cleaning staff, DSCC will add 5200 to its regular 2100 while DNCC will deploy additional 1005 along with the regular 2225.
The city councils will also engage waste carrying trucks equipped with modern equipment.
For managing cleaning operation smoothly, the two city councils will open temporary control rooms. People can contact DSCC control room dialing 95556014 and DNCC control rooms 9856709 and 9858006.
