Call to build environ-friendly housing in Jashore
World Habitat Day 2026 was celebrated in Jessore on Monday under the theme of universal housing and sustainable urbanisation.
On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held at the initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works and organised by the Public Works Department, Jashore. On this day, a discussion meeting and rally were organized at the initiative of the Jashore District Administration and the Public Works Department.

At this time, he said that housing is a fundamental right of the people. The government is making efforts to provide housing to the people. So that agricultural land does not decrease.
Along with this, the government has taken various projects to construct housing buildings to remove environmental pollution due to slums.
The speakers present at the discussion meeting said that along with planned and sustainable urbanization, it is important to ensure safe and universal housing opportunities for people of all classes and professions of the society.
As a result of increasing urbanisation, the demand for housing is increasing. In this situation, sustainable cities must be built through environmentally and people-friendly planning.
The speakers also said that it is necessary to build environmentally friendly housing infrastructure to combat the adverse effects of climate change. For this, all concerned parties, including government and private institutions, must work together.
