Hamza , Farhaan set to join the team camp tomorrow
Hamza Choudhury and Farhaan Ali Wahid are set to join the Bangladesh team’s SAFF camp tomorrow. Both footballers will arrive in Dhaka on Monday and will be seen participating in training that same day.
As the team began preparations for the match against Sri Lanka, Team Manager Amirul Islam Babu confirmed, these two expatriate footballers will arrive tomorrow.
In the absence of these two players, Bangladesh began their SAFF Championship campaign with a 1-0 victory over Bhutan on Thursday. Thomas Dooley’s side will face Sri Lanka in their second and final group-stage match next Thursday (Nov 11).
The team is awaiting the arrival of two key Bangladeshi footballers, Hamza Choudhury and Farhaan Ali Wahid. BD forward Morsalin believes, their arrival will further boost the team’s strength and morale.
He said, “We are very optimistic about the arrival of Hamza and Farhaan. We hope that once they join, the team’s spirit will be further strengthened.”
According to Morsalin, a long-standing issue for Bangladesh has been the lack of a recognised ‘number nine’ or a dedicated striker.
He believes it is a player’s duty to give their best regardless of the position in which the Coach deploys them.
He said, “I am an attacking midfielder, but I have played in various other positions. Wherever the Coach gives me an opportunity, I will strive to perform at my best. Bishwanath has also approached it this way.
I believe everyone should adopt this mindset: wherever you get an opportunity, you should perform well.”
