Milon urges graduates to apply knowledge for social good
Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon has urged graduates of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) to use their knowledge and innovative abilities for national and social welfare, stressing the need for practical, affordable technological solutions.
“After completing their education, students must dedicate their acquired knowledge and innovative abilities to the welfare of the country and society,” he said.
The minister made the call while addressing the university’s 38th convocation in Gazipur, according to a press release.
Milon, who is also in charge of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, said Bangladesh needed skilled human resources capable of applying technology in ways suited to the country’s circumstances and needs.
With artificial intelligence and technological change reshaping the world, students must develop expertise in emerging technologies, he said.
He particularly urged engineers to prioritise essential services through simple and affordable engineering solutions, especially for people who cannot afford expensive technologies.
Describing the convocation as a significant milestone in academic life, the minister said it recognised students’ hard work, reflected the sacrifices made by their guardians and brought joy to their teachers.
