Nilphamari mobile court fines 2 factories

A mobile court fined two factories Taka 1,51,000 for producing and marketing adulterated chips and ‘chanachur’ at the Bansbari Botgach area under Saidpur police station of Nilphamari district on Wednesday.

The Nilphamari camp of SRB-13 and the Saidpur upazila administration jointly initiated and conducted the court, said an SRB-13 press release on Thursday.

Saidpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Farah Fatiha Takmila led the mobile court.

The court fined the operators of the chips and ‘chanachur’ factories, Naushad Golden of the Bansbari Botgach Bashbari area and Akram Khan of the Notun Babupara area, a total of Taka 150,000 under Section 53 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.

Additionally, Md Rashed Karim, 27, of the Botgach Bashbari area was fined Taka 1,000 for obstructing the official duties of the mobile court.
