‘NU working in line with govt expectations’
Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister A Z M Zahid Hossain on Saturday said the National University (NU) was working in line with the government’s expectations, particularly in implementing its “Learning with Happiness” programme nationwide.
He said the university was also taking initiatives to make education more practical and skills-oriented, in line with the government’s priorities.
“The National University’s current administration is working to implement the government’s priority initiatives to make education more relevant to real life. We appreciate these efforts,” he said.
The minister made the remarks as the chief guest at the inauguration of the National University’s Inter-College Sports Competition 2026 for the Rangpur Division at Dinajpur Government College.
The three-day competition, organised by the university’s Department of Physical Education and Culture under the “Learning with Happiness” programme, brings together 1,154 student-athletes from colleges across the division.
