Canada  removes  340 Bangladeshis

Canada removed 340 Bangladeshi citizens during the first eight months of 2026, while another 1,368 Bangladeshis were in the country’s removal-in-progress inventory as of August 31, according to official data.

 

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) said 14,897 foreign nationals were removed from Canada between January 1 and August 31.

 

India recorded the highest number of removals at 4,227, followed by Mexico with 2,282. The United States accounted for 601 removals, Colombia 580, Haiti 535 and Romania 433. Bangladesh ranked seventh with 340 removals.

 

According to CBSA data, 12,005 removals involved refugee claimants who were found non-compliant with Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Another 1,794 removals involved non-compliance among non-claimants, while 897 were linked to criminality.

 

Misrepresentation accounted for 88 removals, while 113 were carried out on other grounds.

Of the total removals, 8,577 were made under deportation orders, 3,303 under departure orders and 3,017 under exclusion orders.

 

Monthly removals stood at 2,658 in January, 1,270 in February, 1,432 in March, 1,917 in April, 2,369 in May, 1,791 in June, 1,837 in July and 1,623 in August.

 

Meanwhile, 49,536 people of all nationalities were in the CBSA’s removal-in-progress inventory as of August 31. India topped the list with 10,295 cases, followed by Mexico with 6,102. Bangladesh ranked eighth with 1,368 cases.

 

The CBSA describes the removal-in-progress inventory as people who can be processed for removal. The agency works with the individuals concerned and foreign governments to resolve issues that may delay their removal, including obtaining necessary travel documents.

 

The CBSA is responsible for enforcing removal orders against foreign nationals who do not have the legal right to enter or remain in Canada.
