World Tourism Day celebrated in Sylhet

SYLHET: Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Al Mamun leads a colourful rally in the city on Sunday marking World Tourism Day-2026.

World Tourism Day-2026 was celebrated in Sylhet through various programmes, with the theme “Future Tourism through Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence.”

The day’s programme began with a bicycle rally from the city’s Keen Bridge area on Sunday.

Later, a colourful rally was brought out from the district administration office at 10am.

The rally passed through important roads of the city before ending at the district administration office.

After the rally, a discussion meeting was held at the district administration conference room to mark World Tourism Day.

The meeting was chaired by Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Al Mamun and conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Masud Rana.

Additional District Magistrate Ayesha Akhter, senior journalist Aftab Chowdhury, Tour Operators Association of Sylhet President Humayun Kabir Liton, Tourism Corporation Sylhet Unit Manager Abdul Wahid and Tourist Police Inspector Ranjan Samanta spoke at the meeting.
