Idris, Gakir new DMD of Islami Bank

Abu Sayed Md Idris and Md Gakir Hossain have been promoted to deputy managing directors (DMDs) of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.

According to the press release, both served as senior executive vice presidents (SEVPs) before their promotions.

Idris is currently serving as head of the SME Investment Wing at the bank’s head office.
He joined Islami Bank in 1992 as a probationary officer.

During his long career at the bank, he served as head of several important departments, zones and branches, including the Retail Investment Management Wing, Rangpur and Mymensingh zones, and Dhaka South Zone.

Idris obtained his master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Dhaka.

With more than three decades of banking experience, he has worked in investment operations, SME banking, and branch and zone management.

Gakir joined Islami Bank in 1996 as a probationary officer and is currently serving as head of the bank’s Local Office Corporate Branch.

During his career, he served as head of several important departments, branches and zones, including the bank’s Special Investment Division.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting from Islamic University, Kushtia.

During his nearly three decades in banking, Gakir has gained experience in investment, branch management and various important administrative functions.
