DNA confirms madrasa teacher as newborn’s father

A DNA test has confirmed that madrasa teacher Aman Ullah Mahmudi Sagar, the accused in the rape of an 11-year-old girl in Madan, Netrokona, is the biological father of the baby born to the child.

The DNA report, prepared by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following a court order, was submitted to the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal on Monday.

Public Prosecutor Nurul Kabir Rubel said the report established the accused as the biological father of the newborn. He added that the trial proceedings are expected to be completed within the next 60 days.

According to the case FIR and police sources, the child had been living with her maternal grandfather after her parents separated and was studying at the madrasa where the accused taught.

After the child developed health problems and physical changes, medical tests found that she was pregnant. Her mother filed a case against the madrasa teacher on April 23.

RAB arrested Aman Ullah from Gouripur in Mymensingh on May 6. A court later granted his remand and ordered a DNA test.

Under a court protection order, the child was placed in a safe home in Sylhet, where she gave birth to a daughter on July 2.

Following another court order, CID collected DNA samples from the newborn on July 28 for testing. The final report confirmed the biological relationship between the accused and the newborn.

The identity of the child has not been disclosed to protect her privacy.
