Abdul Muhith new BD envoy to UK
The government has appointed Muhammad Abdul Muhith, rector of the Foreign Service Academy, as Bangladesh’s next high commissioner to the United Kingdom.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on August 24, confirming his appointment on a two-year contractual basis.
A career diplomat and experienced multilateral practitioner, Muhith has more than three decades of diplomatic experience, with postings in New York, Vienna and Washington, DC, as well as several major Middle Eastern and European capitals.
His career has focused on UN governance, sustainable development, peacebuilding and institutional reform, along with extensive experience in multilateral diplomacy and international negotiations.
Muhith previously served as Bangladesh’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations in New York.
