Motaher removed as Prisons IG

Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Mohammad Motaher Hossain has been withdrawn from his post and returned to the Bangladesh Army.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification to this effect on Wednesday through its Deputation-1 Branch. Signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Noor-E-Alam, the notification said the named Bangladesh Armed Forces officer has been transferred from his current deputation post and returned to his parent service. The order, issued in the public interest, will take effect immediately.

Brigadier General Syed Mohammad Motaher Hossain assumed office as Inspector General of Prisons on August 11, 2024.
