‘77,000 teachers to be recruited across the country’

Minister of Education, Primary and Mass Education Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milan has announced that 77,000 teachers will be recruited for high schools and madrasas across the country.

Before proceeding with the new recruitment, arrangements are being made to transfer teachers currently posted in remote areas; this process is set to begin within a day or two. Once the transfer process is addressed, the focus will shift to new recruitment.

He made these remarks to journalists after an event held in the capital on Monday. When asked how transparency in transfers would be ensured, he replied, “We will see how it works once the system is implemented. Why raise this question right now?”

The Education Minister added, We have started disbursing retirement benefits to teachers across the country. Preparations for teacher recruitment have also commenced in all areas.

He said, We have been without teachers for a long time.

There is a shortage of 32,000 headmasters in primary schools; we have resolved the legal issues regarding that.

We also faced litigation after completing the written examinations for heads of public schools, but that matter has been settled as well. We will arrange for the viva-voce examinations for those positions very soon.
