Samia Afreen embraces change amid cancer treatment
Presenter and TV actress Samia Afreen, who has been battling cancer for the past five years, recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer again.
Having previously overcome colon cancer, Samia said she has now been diagnosed with uterine cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy as part of her treatment.
Amid her treatment, Samia shared a photo of herself with a shaved head on social media, reflecting on losing her hair and learning to embrace the change.
Posting the photo on Facebook yesterday, Samia wrote, “I never thought there would come a time in my life again when my head would be completely bald. Perhaps it happened when I was a child, when I was too young to even think about it.
But as an adult, losing your hair like this for reasons beyond your control is an experience very few people probably go through.”
For Samia, beauty is not limited to physical appearance but also lies in the ability to accept oneself through difficult circumstances.
“Whether I have hair or not, beauty is not something that can only be seen in the mirror. True beauty lies in being able to accept yourself as you are,” she wrote.
“So, this look is also a story from my life – the story of a difficult time, but at the same time, a story of courage, acceptance and love for myself.”
Concluding her post, Samia wrote, “So, yes… this is me – with a shaved head and without any hesitation or insecurity about who I am. Alhamdulillah for every version of myself. Insha’Allah, this too shall pass.”
