3 bodies recovered from capital
Police recovered the bodies of three young men from separate incidents in the capital within just two and a half hours. The bodies were recovered from the Mugda, Kamrangirchar, and Badda areas of the capital between 9 am and 11:30 am on Thursday.
The deceased in these separate incidents are: Sabuj, alias Babu (20), from the Mugda area; Noyon (30), from Kamrangirchar; and Rabius Sani (32), from the Badda area.
Police sent their bodies to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital for autopsy. Further legal proceedings in these matters are underway.
Around 11:30 am on Thursday, police recovered Rabius Sani’s body from a residence in the Swadhinata Sarani area of Badda in the capital. Badda Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Joyanta Dutta said that, after receiving information from the family, Rabius Sani’s body was recovered from the residence in Badda’s Swadhinata Sarani. At the time, the body was found lying on the bed. After preparing the inquest report, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College’s morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, Mugda Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Abu Tarek Dipu said that, after receiving information from locals around 9:30 am, Sabuj’s body was recovered from a ground-floor room of Shafiq Sheikh’s residence near Pagla Chan Hotel in Mugda. At the time, the body was found hanging, with a shawl wrapped around the neck and tied to a fan. After the inquest report, the body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, around 9 am on Thursday, Noyon’s body was recovered from a residence in the Hasannagar area of Kamrangirchar in the capital.
Kamrangirchar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Ziad Mahmud Nahid said that Noyon lived as a tenant in that residence in Hasannagar with his wife and 5-year-old child. He worked as a rickshaw puller, but reportedly did not work regularly, which kept the family in financial hardship.
The police official said that in March, due to family issues, Noyon’s wife left, taking their young child with her.
It has initially been learned that, out of despair over these matters, Noyon died by suicide by hanging. His ancestral home is in the Boyatikandi area under Jajira Police Station in Shariatpur. His father’s name is the late Moslem Uddin.
